BGourd (a play on bittergourd) is a boom bap rapper organically grown in Singaporean soil. Working with laidback producers such as the likes of Halal Sol (Darker Than Wax) and Fauxe to complement his compelling energy, BGourd is proving to be the fresh face indie hip-hop needs. Through his music, BGourd is exploring what Singaporean hip-hop can be, hoping to create a body of work that simultaneously embraces and communicates the ethos of life in Singapore. The bodysuit he performs in is at once a tribute to the mighty bitter gourd and a reference to the greenscreen; representing his ability to take on any style on the fly.
