Alex Hahn is a blues singer born into a jazz dynasty. Her father, a jazz pianist, her mother a jazz singer, Alex grew up surrounded by Australia’s jazz elite. Moving to Ireland in 2005 she broke away from her roots with her highly successful funk band Electrogecko, who with their unique versions of classic jazz standards, enjoyed residencies all over country including spots at many jazz and blues festivals. During her time there she also formed a more traditional jazz group with well known Galway based artist Mister Ebby, who also enjoyed sustained commercial success. Alex and Mister Ebby also extended into the cabaret quarter as the duo Accident and Emergency, landing the much coveted support slot for Irelands most well known and successful Cabaret band, Cuckoo Savante. On returning to Australia Alex Hahn teamed up with jazz musicians, Guitarist Charlie Meadows and Double Bassist Nick Hoorweg. Amongst the plethora of corporate events, weddings, private and public shows the trio enjoy weekly residencies at bars and pubs across Sydney. Recently Alex produced her debut album The Wallflower with her 7 piece soul band The Blue Riders. A tribute to Etta James the 13 track album takes listeners through the career defining songs of the late and great Miss Etta James.
