The band comprised Anet Mook (vocals, guitar), Nicky Olofssson (guitar), Tom Harrison (bass) and Mark Bullock (drums). The band's first release was the Better Than Myself EP, released on Org Records in 1998. They were then signed by EastWest, who issued the band's only album, Nature Creates Freaks, in 1999, the band being compared to the likes of Sonic Youth and The Breeders,with the NME saying of the band "Cay are simply following in that great Camden tradition of stealing what's best from America and coating it in north London grime",and describing Cay as "sounding like the devil's own daughter gargling razor blades over the rawest hardcore".The band recorded two studio sessions for John Peel's BBC Radio 1 show and an Evening Session for Steve Lamacq as well as a live performance broadcast on Radio 1 in 1999 as part of the Sound City events.After parting company with EastWest Bullock and Harrison left the band. Mook and Olofssson, with a new drummer and bassist, returned to Org Records, who issued a final single "The Resurrexit" in 2000.
