This album has a variety of music. From raw blues, to country blues, to country rock, the songs on this album will have you singing along--crying and singing, laughing and singing, dancing and singing--and I'm pretty sure that the stories in my songs are familiar ones... I was raised in Kansas and Texas, so, no matter what I sing, I always have a little country in my voice. I've always loved listening to the old blues singers like Ruth Brown, Etta James, and Big Mama Thornton as well, and they've influenced my "Torch song" voice when I'm singing my ballads. I wrote most of the songs myself but co-wrote 3 of them with some great writers and friends that you've probably heard of... I've been singing 4-5 nights a week in bars, at festivals, swap meets, and more. You name the place and I've probably performed there! One of my favorite gigs was singing the National Anthem at NASCAR. You won't find me standing quietly behind Steven Tyler! I sing because that's what I do best in this world, and I'm more comfortable on stage than anywhere else. I love performing live because that's when you really feel that you're giving your music to people--people who really want to listen and enjoy. The music that I create...is hard to categorize because the lyrics and style of each song matches the mood that I'm in at the time--and that changes constantly! No matter if you're listening to this record or coming to my shows, I'll always give my best performance. It's what I live to do. I'll be singing until they lay me in the ground.
