As a young girl, I would accompany my mother to the Savoy Ballroom, where she danced whenever she could. I heard first hand such greats as Count Basie, Lionel Hampton, Earl Garner and Earl "Fatha" Hines. It was through these experiences, that I became interested in this music. I listened endlessly to Ella , Sarah, Frank, Nat, Carmen and more. I'm talking years of listening before I could hope to develop my own style. Throughout the years, I continued to pursue the music, honing my skills by taking opportunities to work with the finest musicians. I have found my sound and since have performed at The Blue Note, The Kitano, and more. I have toured throughout Japan, performed in Denmark and Africa. My CD has been played on American and Japanese radio and television.
