The Deathening was recorded over the course of a year, in 3 separate sessions, by Erich Tran (lead and rhythm guitars, drums), Sol Bales (vocals), Mark Reinking (rhythm and lead guitars, bass), and Parker Willis (bass on Skeleton Man, S.T.B., Creature Feature, and The Deathening). All tracks were written by Bales, Tran, and Reinking, and recorded, mixed, and mastered by Griffin Landa at The Establishment Recording Studio in Des Moines, Iowa. The Deathening's cover art was created by renowned artist Eliran Kantor (Testament, Hatebreed, Sodom), with additional artwork by Mark Rudolph (Decibel Magazine). "The Deathening" physical CD package includes a bonus DVD, directed and produced by Rick Burger of Stang Films. The DVD contains a documentary ("deathumentary") with band interviews, studio footage, and more, plus music videos for Green Death, The Devil's Hand/Bathed In Black, Death Monks, Split The Skies, and S.T.B.
