am-bi’-ance: that which surrounds or encompasses atmosphere, feeling, character and quality The sound of Ambiance has been declared soulistic spiritualism; a move that invokes change, healing, and truth through a spiritual message of poetry and song; a sound that sets the atmosphere for the heart to be penetrated, the mind to be pervaded, and body and soul to permeated with the presence of God. Our desire is to convey the message and good news of God our creator, Jesus Christ our redeemer and the Holy Spirit—our comforter and guide. PENNY J. McDONALD is the visionary and chief songwriter for Ambiance. She started singing at the age of 5 and during her high school years she sang in the Abramson High School choir. In years past, she was the runner up in the WYLD talent show and has opened for Gladys Knight. Once Penny formed her relationship with the Lord, her heart song became all about Him. As a member of Living the Word International Ministries, she is a member of the choir and sings with the Praise Team. KYONNE GIBSON (a.k.a. Anointed Voice), is an integral part of the sound of Ambiance. She has been writing and reciting poetry since the age of 15. At the age of 22, she began spoken word engagements for weddings, birthday events, family reunions, church and poetry events and most recently, Praise in the Park. She is a published author of a book called Expressions of the Heart…To Enlighten and Inspire the Soul and currently creates greeting cards for any occasion called Inspirations for the Soul. Kyonne states that her daughter, Jamira inspires her greatly. As a member of Living the Word International Ministries, she strives for perfection in Christ, allowing God to move His words through her so the lost can be saved. FREDDIE JACOBS, JR was born into music. At the tender age of 7, he discovered his gift of creativity through the keyboard and combined it with his gift of song under the guidance of his piano teacher Sylvia Palmer and watchful tutelage of his mother, Yvette Jacobs. To further nurture and develop his gift, he studied under the late Alvin Batiste at the New Orleans Center of Creative Arts (NOCCA) for 3 years before being displaced by Hurricane Katrina. As a prolific rapper and producer, he heard the voice of God urge him to utilize his gift for the kingdom through his membership at Living the Word International Ministries, where he faithfully works in ministry. ALICIA MORGAN started singing and traveling the United States at the age of 10 with the very popular gospel choir, Gospel Soul Children of New Orleans, LA under the direction of the late Norman Shepherd. During her high school years, she participated in church choirs, talent shows and television productions. She’s currently a member of Living the Word International Ministries choir and praise team where she’s found a deeper level of worship and love for God. CRYSTAL PETIT started singing at the age of 10 in the children’s choir. Trinity Lutheran Church is where she nurtured her love for God and her gift of song. In high school, she sang in the Xavier Prep Chorus under the direction of Ms. Germaine Bazzle. Crystal currently sings in the choir at Living the Word International Ministries where she is also a member of the Praise Team. “Singing for the Lord is my passion, winning souls for Christ is my mission.”
