An album six (or thirty-six) years in the making, Post-Nuclear Spanish Opera House is the debut record by Tingo and contains songs written by Paul Moffett over nearly a lifetime of songwriting, featuring a mix of tunes ranging from alt.folk to rock to blues to bluegrass, with a little taste of the Caribbean thrown in. Songs that have previously been recorded and/or performed by other artists include "Big Fire In Bardstown," the bluegrass tale of the great Heaven Hill distillery fire in Bardstown, Kentucky on November 7, 1996; "I've Got My Doubts About You, Boy," an arch blues tune about a musician who makes questionable choices; "Railroad Man," a straightforward rock 'n' roll tribute to stealing rides on a train; "Madman On The Corner," a Jimmy Buffett-style ditty about a man on a corner and "Bambi Walk," a Louisville, Kentucky-specific rocker about a long bar crawl up Bardstown Road. A number of excellent Louisville musicians contributed to this project, including the redheaded Brigid Kaelin, whose piano-skills lifted a number of these tunes; guitarist and graphic artist Brian P. White, who composed guitar solos for several tunes plus designed the cover art; bluegrass stalwarts Murrell Thixton, banjo, and Danny Jones, mandolin, plus Audrey Cecil on backup vocals. Steve Ridner was the quiet but excellent bassist.
