Valses Mexicanos y Sudamericanos

Valses Mexicanos y Sudamericanos

In this album, Mexico's greatest singer and idol takes on the most beautiful waltzes south of the border. It is unfortunate that modern Latin singers continue to neglect recording a wonderful collection of songs such as the waltzes. Other than Pedro Infante, the only other singers that I can think of who have recorded the waltzes are Javier Solis and Vicente Fernandez (come to think of it, I believe Pablo Montero did record Dios nunca muere). However as great as Solis and Fernandez are, their interpretations pale in comparison to those of Pedro Infante. The nostalgic and heartfelt vocals of Pedro Infante more than make up for the poor mono sound quality of his recordings. Even so these recordings have been digitally remastered, thanks to WEA Latin buying out the original Peerless recordings and thus ensuring the best quality remastering. The song "Viva mi desgracia" (a song which satirizes a love gone wrong) is a must for anyone interested in understanding the Pedro Infante mystique. Other songs worth listening to in the album are "Dolores", "Recuerdo", and "Dios nunca muere". The album is in short one that will not disappoint to say the least.
