Anyango is the world's first female nyatiti player. The nyatiti is a traditional instrument of Luo tribe in Kenya. The harp-like instrument has traditionally been played only by men in the tribe. "Anyango" means "girl born in the morning" in Dholuo. "ALEGO" is the name of village around Lake Victoria in Kenya. It's the place where Anyango stayed when she trained Nyatiti, and it's also the hometown of this instrument. This album is offered to the great Nyatiti master called Okumu Orengo who departed this world last year.
