Atlantis (Deluxe Version)
Yesterday, Andrea Berg released her new CD, Atlantis and if the two cuts we've heard are at all representative of the other 23 tracks on her new 2013 Sony Records offering, all we can say is "this girl just can't ever seem to miss." Never deviating from her tried and proven traditional hard-driving, yet soft schlager formula, the 47 year old Andrea Berg shows once again why Helene Fischer is having such a devil of a time trying to de-throne her as the undisputed Queen of German schlager music. Since 2003, Berg has had an unbroken streak of 6 CD releases reach #1 on the schlager charts and it doesn't look like the string is going to be broken in 2013. Coming on the heels of the successful 2011 Abenteur CD, with it's featured single, Piraten wie wir she's again embraced a nautical theme, which will no doubt be reflected in the staging of her planned 2014 Atlantis tour. The tour is scheduled to take her to cities in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France and Denmark. Several of the cuts have titles which reflect the mystical nature of the mythic lost continent, such as Im n?chsten Leben (In the next life) and Weil du ein Zauberer bist (Because you're a magician.)
